I have a family member that was sold a loan mortgage modification contract by Choice Loan Consulting of Chandler AZ. The charge was $3,500 and she was told the average time was 4 months to negotiate a reduction in monthly payments. She provided a credit card number and paid this in January 2009 - no modification as of September 2, 2009 - approaching 9 months. I requested a refund over 2 months ago based on their guarantee, they refuse to give the money back despite their failure to follow through.
I have done several searches online and this experience doesn't seem unique, several seem to have the same experience with this company in Arizona. The point of this blog is to identify others with the same situation and experience and file suit in the courts with as many as possible on behalf of the class and initiate an investigation with the Arizona Attorney General Office. I used to work for Choice Loan Consulting. Not as an "agent" (someone who sells loan mod. contracts) but as a data-entry clerk. I am a former friend of both Jordan Ruzicka and Jeff Harper. I am well acquainted with the company and its policies. My parents were sold a contract in Aug. 2008. They were one of the first clients. After being told by Jordan Ruzicka, the owner, that Choice was not able to complete the loan modification for my parents a refund was promised. It was also stipulated in their contract that if Choice did not achieve a 10% reduction in their monthly payment they would receive a full refund. They were promised this refund by Jordan and the other owners in May of 2009. They still have not gotten the refund and they are not able to get through to the company. Many of the people that I worked with from Nov. 2008 through Jun. 2009 have quit; many because of the lack of integrity of the owners. I know that during the summer the company did not pay its employees for several weeks. Around this time Jordan Ruzicka purchased a boat worth $80,000. Jordan was a friend of ours; he even gave my parents a discount on the services, and many times he took care of their concerns personally. Now we can't even get him to return our phone calls. On facebook he continues to flaunt his wealth and lifestyle while my parents are out the amount of money they paid to him and now they are about to loose their house. From what I saw while working for the company loan modification is basically impossible in most cases. Perhaps the owners were well-intentioned at first but as the process proved itself to be increasingly impossible they did not desist from promoting something that would hurt rather than help their clients.

ReplyDeleteI have been a customer with Choice National since February of this year. The salesman was a close contact of my father's and used his church-going reputation and 100% success rate guarantee to convince me to pay $2500. The salesman promised me my interest rate would be around 2-3%, knowing full well that I had an FHA loan. Choice told me the whole process would take 3 months, and to this day, NOTHING has happened. That same salesman quit the company in June. He continued the charade that he was working for them until September- Sending emails, discussing updates with the company, and acting as the official go-between with Choice! He finally admitted that he left the company because there were shady things happening, and subsequently sent a mass email to the clients he had worked with, instructing us on how to petition for refunds. I followed those instructions and still got absolutely nowhere. The whole system the company uses is smoke and mirrors. I found out in August after repeatedly calling the Choice customer service line that my lender would not work with Choice because they needed a third party authorization form, which the lender requested from Choice in JUNE. It's scary how similar my experience has been to the scores of people I see posting threads about this. Choice has been a disease that infected numerous people at my father's company, all who knew the same salesman. None have had success. I desperately want and need my $2500 back because I am completely confident this is a scam and I will never get my loan modified nor my money back. The only way to get the money back is to expose them in the media and/or through a class-action lawsuit. The people I know share my same story. The case against Choice is as clear as can be. Choice employees admitted that the owners embezzled money from the company. This ship is going down down down, and it's taking my money with it. Somebody please help!!
ReplyDeleteI paid choice loans on 5-20-09 and nothing has happened with our loan. I too was convinced by a close friends church-going dad to do this. It is impossible to even get through to Choice. I have left so many messages with no response. WHen I finally got through they told me they had been "going through some changes and getting new phone lines" What kind of business shuts down there phone lines for over 2 months without notifing their customers. I feel like I have been totally taken advantage of. I could really use the 3,000.00 I gave them. Thank you for starting this site and getting the word out. I sent in a complaint to the arizona consumer affairs dept and am going to contact my credit card company next.
